I think this is a very good subject to be concerned about. There are so many people, both young and old, that go through life with problems, mental, social, economical or otherwise, that cause them to become depressed and end up committing suicide.
Unfortunately suicide is always a relevant subject. We are experiencing troubled times with the pandemic and the always present – social pressures of society. Addressing the prevalence of suicide as an outcome of some of these pressures could only be helpful and advantageous.
Great essay, really hits home with me also. I lost my brother to suicide in 2019 also and miss him everyday. I tried to figure out why and only stressed me more, talking to my minister really helped and believe it can help others. Stay strong my young sister and keep on writing!
Keep up the great work Ms. Payne. This is often a subject that many shy away from. I applaud you for being a risk taker and allowing your voice to be heard.
Wow, Tia! You’ve spoken at length about this topic and how important it is that there is more awareness centered around how suicide impacts everyone, not just the person that commits the act. I applaud you for your courage in sharing your story and experience and am super proud of your presentation and commitment to this program. Great things await you in the future. Bravo!
I am SO impressed! I remember when I first saw your topic in class! While I hate that you have experience with this topic firsthand, I applaud your bravery and candor in choosing to shed light on this topic because it is SO IMPORTANT! Great job!
Great job on sharing your personal experience and thoughts on this topic. In a time where mental health awareness is needed in great measure, you were able to draw the attention of the audience by communicating the importance of this issue. Keep striving and advocating for more resources for today’s youth!
You’ve highlighted such an important gap that I’d never considered before – support for those who are experiencing suicidal ideation AND their loved ones! Thank you fir sharing your brilliance with the world.
Outstanding work Tia! You have written a great and moving piece advocating for this topic. Thank you for your bravery in discussing a deeply personal experience. I am so proud!

Great subject matter because many suffer with mental illness and suicidal thoughts in silence for fear of being frowned upon or looked at negatively.
Very nice young girl and help everyone she can and make sure that if you need any help with anything she will try to help you.?
